Soothsayer Ch. 13, Pt. 1

Notes: Wow, so much has happened in the past week. I officially sold my super villain story to Riptide, which will be getting a name change. Also, it might become a series, which is amazing. Also, there's a lot more that I'll talk about later this week, but for now! Have some Soothsayer confrontation, Texas-style. This was such a fun chapter to write, oh my god.

Title: Soothsayer Chapter 13, Part 1.

“Two things scare me. The first is getting hurt. But that’s not nearly as scary as the second, which is losing.” – Lance Armstrong

Naturally, once Sören knew about the confrontation that was looming he insisted on being there. I figured it would be easier without him there but he thought, and probably correctly, that since he was the one we were fighting over he should have a say in our negotiations.

“Fine,” I said, “but you keep your mouth shut for the most part, okay? Please? Because you’re not good at defusing these sorts of situations, and I think you know that.”

“Defusing such situations would be boring,” he told me with a smirk. “I much prefer when you fight over me.”

“And I much prefer living through these things, so don’t push it, okay?”

    1. Thank you! It was time for some badass to come back into this story :)

  2. OMG Best. Line. EVER!
“Thanks, it’s my wife’s! It fit good inside the cargo plane and she wasn’t using it, so she let me borrow it.”

    1. Hi Scottie!

Y'know, I was thinking about this story and Roger and I went, wait, why not share the Texas toughness? So now I've got this image of his wife running a private security firm or something like that in my head ;)

    2. Wow, that is perfect! This story comes in a close second to Jonah! Probably because i know some people in this area of the occult. Lol

  3. Hi!
I love how you finish the chapters, very funny,:)
I think that soren is more human each passing day and every time it is more like Cillian.
    Great chapter, as usual.
    Mariag :-)

    1. Hi Mariag!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked my attempt at humor ;) Things are definitely getting interesting for Soren and Cillian.
