Maggie Nash is hosting me today

Hi there!

Today I'm guest blogging for Maggie Nash.  Maggie is an awesome romance writer out of Australia, who graciously lets other people play on her site, so thank you, Maggie!  The topic is the difficulty I experienced wanting to provide too much background info when I wrote Changing Worlds, which if you've followed the blog, you know about.  Remember that post, where I commented on how intensely the edits were kicking my ass...yeah. Pay her a visit here: http://maggienash.blogspot.com.

I was originally going to do a post about my other May release, Reclaimed, but there's no buy link for it up yet on the publisher's website.  Frustrating!  Because both of the stories are really good, and I don't want to neglect one so that the other can get all the spotlight, but what can I say, Storm Moon Press is one organized mofo.  At any rate, I'll be doing contests for each of them once we get closer to the release dates (which are only one day apart), so hopefully that will spread the love around.  All that messy, sticky love, just waiting to be spread...

I think I'll stop now.

Visiting Lisabet

Hi guys!

I'm guest blogging on Lisabet Sarai's website today, and I would love for you to visit me there.  Odds are I could even respond to comments on her blog, unlike mine (#@%$*&).  I talk a little about Africa and irony and circular living, which I just made up.  Other people may call it karma:)

Check it out here: http://lisabetsarai.blogspot.com/2011/11/wow-thats-ironic.html

More Pandora will be up soon, promise.  I'm finally bringing Robbie back into the mix, so that should be fun.

Blogging On Lisabet's Site

Today I get to guest blog on Lisabet Sarai's site, which just thrills me right down to the toes:)  Feel free to jump over and read, comment, say hi...whatever tickles your fancy.  The link is here: Beyond Romance blog.  I'm talking about the difficulty writers face (or at least I do) when it comes to deciding how much background research to actually write into a story.  As some of you know, I can be exhaustive that way, which can in turn be very dull.  This is why we beta, people.  So a friend can tell you "Cari, um...this sucks, here's why, but you can fix it!"  I've canned several stories or pushed them back because they were too much world building and not enough character building.  Anyway.  Check it out!

Other things in the works...Pandora Pt. 12 is getting finished today and will be posted tonight or tomorrow (speaking of betas, this story doesn't have one, I just put it out there...could be a mistake), I'm finishing the rough draft of the sequel to Treasured, and my man just finished editing my NaNoWriMo novella for me, so hopefully I'll be sending that somewhere soon.  And there's regular work too.  Go solar ovens!

Blogging and balls

This is a bit of a random post, so please forgive me in advance.

Guest blogging on Lisabet Sarai's site was very fun, even though I wasn't able to give her my stuff until a day before the post was supposed to go up.  In my defense, the top half of the country had no email access for 5 days, which was maddening but what can you do?  Call someone to complain?  That presumes your phone works.  Still...she was very understanding.  Thanks to whomever visited me there, uber thanks to the commenters (yeah, I'm looking at you, T:) and hopefully next time I'll be more focused.

I got accepted to another antho coming out in January with Torquere, which is lovely...I'll get promo stuff up soon.

And now, not that there are many men who read this blog in all likelihood, but if there are: thank you guys for being the ones to carry the testicles around.  What a pain that must be.  It's on my mind of late because a friend in another village was telling us how they castrate sheep around here, and all the men present were groaning and turning green, and all I could do was think, "I'm so happy that's not me."  And I am.  Kudos to dudes.
