New Release: Perilous

Hi guys!

It's been a busy month. Like, seriously busy between day job, RT and new releases. The last of these is my new release today, which some of you may be familiar with: Perilous, formerly known as The Captain.

My one and only work of historical fiction, set in a time period I adore: the Napoleonic Era and the Age of Sail. Sea battles! Cannons! Obscure nautical terms! Seamen! Lots and lots of seamen!

In all honesty, I love this story, and I'm grateful to NineStar Press for taking it on and editing the crap out of it. They've made it better, and I hope you give it a try. If you love Horatio Hornblower, Aubrey Maturin or just enjoy a good action story, you'll like Perilous!

Quick FYI for a story on Lit

Hi guys,

If you've read any of my stories on Literotica, such as, say, The Captain, and want to read it again, I suggest you do it soon. I just contracted that one for publication and will be removing it asap. All the others are still up, though, and will stay that way for now!

Yay publication, boo it going away. But it'll be back soon in another form, swear. And if you're missing the other one I pulled from Lit, Shadows and Light, it's coming soon from Pride Publishing! It's got it's own page and everything :) https://www.pride-publishing.com/book/shadows-and-light

I think that's it for now. Back to chipping up old floor. Woooooooooyeah. Lovin' it. But it'll all be worth it in the end!

Coming Soon!

Hi darlins!

I know, you're waiting for more Love Letters; never fear, it's coming tomorrow.  I just want to remind you about a few other things in the works.

First, The Captain as an ebook.  I've contacted a cover artist about doing work for it and am waiting to hear back.  I have never wished so bad that I had more than a passing acquaintance with Photoshop.  New goal for this year: learn how to make my own damn covers.  I'm also considering getting it professionally edited, because, well, if you're going to pay for it it should be the best it can be.  Once I have more success with this, I'll let you know.

Second, I got permission from one of the people who bought a fic from me for the Hurricane Sandy auction that I could post what I wrote for other people to read.  It's a little interlude set in the Changing Worlds universe, just before Jason and Ferran leave Perelan to start their new mission.  I'll be offering it up for your reading pleasure soon:)

Third, speaking of the Sandy Auction, the two authors (MJ O'Shea and Piper Vaughn) who organized it are running a contest on their blog right now.  It's the easiest contest in the world to enter, just leave a comment, and there are a huge number of prizes on offer.  Huge.  Like, astonishingly so, you should go and look just to see the enormouse pile of swag.  There are ways to get multiple entries too, and the contest doesn't end until Valentine's Day, so check it out here: 2nd Annual Valentine's Day Lovefest.

Last, the first episode of my serial novel with Storm Moon Press will be available this Friday.  Yay!  Quick blurb for Cambion: Devon Harper has struggled his entire life to control his incubus powers. Now that control faces its ultimate test when a demon sets his sights on escaping Hell using Devon as the doorway!

If you think it's the sort of thing you're going to want to read all of, you can get a season pass at a discount right now; that includes around 90k words in the actual book and extras in the form of deleted scenes, side character stories, etc.  If you're not sure, then you can just wait until Friday and get the first episode for just 99 cents, which, for 15k words, is pretty freaking affordable.  Here's the link to buy or find out more: Cambion Season One: Dark Around The Edges.

Now to finish Love Letters, which I'm really enjoying, but have to plan out before writing.  Wasn't an issue with Pandora or Paradise.  Sci fi is my brain's natural resting state:)

Oh Cari...really?

So here I am editing together The Captain stories into one volume to make available to you guys...

Yay, right?  Fun story, my first every posted, I haven't read it for years, this is gonna be great!

Except then I get into the nuts and bolts, and...

Oh my god, grammar, woman!  Punctuation!  Mother of God, did you not attend college?  Don't you know the difference between "to" and "too?"  Did you even read this before you posted it the first time?

Which, of course, I did, but as this was my very first story to be publically posted anywhere, and I was a total noob, I didn't get it beta'd.  I should have.  Oy.  I'm finding it hard to resist the urge to restrict myself to only technical and not substantive rewrites.  Guess I just need to write another part.  Incidentally, there will be an epilogue of sorts added onto the end of the completed story.

Also...I have grown as a writer and a human being.  I know I need a beta.  Readerwife, prepare to be mobbed.  Any other interested parties, let me know.  I want this to be good before I pay for a cover and get my peeps to help me massage it into different file formats for public consumption.

Happy Tuesday, people.
