Tempest is live on Amazon!
Hi darlins!
My Rainbow Award-winning m/m fantasy novel Tempest is now up on Amazon! You can find it here: Tempest
Love can change a soul. But can it save one life?
Colm Weathercliff is a simple fisherman with an uncanny some might say preternatural knack for his trade. He thought leaving his small village to take his father s ashes to the capital city of Caithmor for a proper burial would be the grandest adventure of his life.
At first, all his hopes seem to be fulfilled. He finds a home where he s accepted without question, the freedom to use his talent to its fullest effect, and love with Nichol, a man with a longing for the sea as powerful as Colm s.
But Caithmor holds as many dangers as it does attractions. Colm s greatest secret turns out to be a dark revelation that gets him and his family shunned and changes everything he thought he knew about himself.
The truth about his parentage, his gift, even his physical form could poison his chance for love. And doom both him and Nichol to a gruesome, inescapable fate.
This is the second edition of the book, with a different cover, but it's the same story. If you've already bought it, thank you! No need to do so again, you're not missing anything.
If you're following it in Wattpad, never fear! I will continue to post chapters there until the whole thing is up. But if you want to know what happens next faster (and after this next chapter, you totally will) then here's your chance.
You might be wondering, what's the point of putting it up for sale if you're just going to give it away for free? Well, I've been thinking about that a lot lately, and I'll write a blog post about it later this weekend.
In the meantime, enjoy, and happy Friday!

Two Rainbow Award Wins!
Guys. GUUUUUYS! Omg, guys, look. LOOK!
I won a Rainbow Award! Tempest got first place in the Gay Fantasy Romance category! And some of the competition was freaking stiff, so...*happy dances so HARD*
1) A compelling, well-crafted, well-written book. The author has a true gift for story-telling, making the most seemingly everyday occurences into this smooth flow you don't want to get out of - and you notice only in hindsight that what seemed mundane was actually the author sneakily weaving her plot. And when the occurences are not everyday? It's breathtaking, literally, and you have to applaud a writer you can do action and urgency just as well as despair and despondency. And on top of that: beautiful, complex, multi-faceted charaters, each carrying his or her own story and secrets, some of which are revealed, some of which are only hinted at. Marvellous and fascinating and utterly brilliant. You could say I enjoyed this book - despite the warnings it came with - and you would not be wrong. (It really was that good).
2) I found my self totally immersed in this very different story of the sea and the creatures that live in the deep. Intense at times, bizarre yet imaginative beyond anything I have read recently.
Actually I won two. The second is a tie for Second Place in the Gay Sci Fi/Futuristic Category for Where There's A Will. Woot! I'll take it!
Cari Z has a great take on superheroes and supervillains. Wonderfully crafted characters, wit, anger, fun, and romance. Cari Z captures the right blend of elements and great dialogue between heroes and villains, all set against a backdrop of wonderful world-building. An incredibly entertaining read.
All that, plus my honey was inducted into his university's honor society tonight for being a total badass who combined perfect grades with a desire to improve his community and volunteer his time to benefit others, and I saw the final version of the cover for the book L.A. Witt and I have coming out in May and it's AMAZING. I'm kind of over the moon right now.
Thanks to everyone who read these books! If you haven't, well...maybe you will now. I live in optimism!
And also, hugely, thanks to Elisa, the founder of the Rainbow Awards, for giving so many authors a chance to showcase their work, and giving readers a whole new world to choose from. I'm so grateful.

New Release: Tempest
Oh my gosh, Tempest is here at last!
I'm so, so excited about this book. It's my longest one to date, it's an epic m/m fantasy story, it's got magic and mystery and some dark stuff and some funny stuff and hopefully some twists you won't see coming, and it's the only book I'll ever have out with Samhain, so...it has all my love :)
You can find it here: https://www.samhainpublishing.com/book/5760/tempest (its cheaper here)

Colm Weathercliff is a simple fisherman with an uncanny—some might say preternatural—knack for his trade. He thought leaving his small village to take his father’s ashes to the capital city of Caithmor for a proper burial would be the grandest adventure of his life.
At first, all his hopes seem to be fulfilled. He finds a home where he’s accepted without question, the freedom to use his talent to its fullest effect, and love with Nichol, a man with a longing for the sea as powerful as Colm’s.
But Caithmor holds as many dangers as it does attractions. Colm’s greatest secret turns out to be a dark revelation that gets him and his family shunned—and changes everything he thought he knew about himself.
The truth—about his parentage, his gift, even his physical form—could poison his chance for love. And doom both him and Nichol to a gruesome, inescapable fate.

Status Update
Because I don't update my website often enough... (this weekend, swear to god, it'll happen)
What the heck am I doing lately? When are my new releases coming out? What are they, even, and why am I so terrible at promo?
We'll just disregard that last question and move right along.
What I'm working on currently: Redstone, and am having to resist the temptation to jump ahead to the next story in the Bonded universe, which will go back to Cody and Ten and everyone, with a heavy side focus on Jonah. Make of that what you will.
Also, my NaNo project this year is the beginning of my next Samhain project, which is a complicated contemporary that I'm grappling with like the Nemean Lion. Fear not, I will skin this bitch and hang it's wordy carcass on my wall before deadline.
Upcoming releases: I've got a coauthored short story with Caitlin Ricci called Worth the Wait in this year's Dreamspinner Advent Calendar, available in December: Advent Calendar
The whole collection is on sale right now, so if you're interested, it's a good time to jump on it. Our story is sweet and feel-good and involves freezing your ass off in line in front of a bookstore to get what you want, a feeling I know I'm not alone in.
On January 13th my novella Dangerous Territory will be re-released through Less Than Three Press: Dangerous Territory
It's an m/m, alt history, shapeshifting adventure story that was originally published in Storm Moon Press' Forgotten Menagerie anthology, but has since been re-edited and given a beautiful new cover. I want to be up front: this is a re-release, folks, so if you read it in the original antho, don't expect anything drastically new here.
In February I've got Shadows and Light coming out with Pride Publishing, formerly Totally Bound. This is one that I first published on Literotica years ago, and has been edited to within an inch of its life, is getting beautiful cover art I can't show off yet, and released as a 70k novel. I'm pretty sure if you've read my stuff for years (which some of you have--crazy, I love you) you've read this one, but I'm pleased to be releasing it as a real, grown-up book. I mean, magical pseudo-vampires and BDSM. What's not to love?
In April Tempest comes out with Samhain, which is ridiculously exciting because they're an amazing company and this, honestly, is a pretty epic book. My longest publication to date, a dark fantasy that nevertheless pulls it out at the end, I'm so excited for this one. Cover soon! I also get to go to the Romantic Times conference in Vegas in April, so this is looking to be a good month.
Last thing I know for sure: Panopolis #3 will come out with Riptide in May. No cover or link yet (I'm still doing edits, pray for my soul) but I'm really, really happy with how this one came out. I think it'll surprise people. More info for you when I have it.
That's all I know, on the writing front. Personally, my honey and I are going to travel to Cambodia at some point next year to visit my darling MIL, who is working with the Peace Corps there. Japan this year, Cambodia next year: I know a lot of fucking awesome, travelsome people. I'm lucky to be able to go and visit them on their adventures.
So! My calendar for the forseeable future. ;)

Two Amazing New Contracts!
Hi guys!
Yay, I finally get to spill the beans! I just finalized contracts for two novels, both to come out next year, both with either a new publisher or someone I haven't published with in a long time. This isn't because I'm not incredibly happy with my current publishers (Riptide, I love you) but timing wise it just worked out better this way.
The first novel is a completely new one that I talked about, like, two years ago. It's my massive epic fantasy, genderbending m/m romance version of The Little Mermaid, tentatively titled Tempest (here, have a tongue twister), to be published by...wait for it...Samhain!
This is big for me, because I've tried to publish with Samhain twice before and been very nicely turned down. I don't have an agent, I'm not a big name, I wasn't at all sure they would go for this but I thought I'd try again with this novel. I sent it to them and settled in to wait, and then they got back to me in a week! It should be coming out next April, and I'm just...incredibly pleased by this. I think this story is really special, probably my best so far.
The second novel is technically a reprint, but not really, because the first time around it was free. Yeah...if you've read my stuff on Literotica, then you know I've got a ton of stories on there. You also might have noticed that one of them has been taken down. Not Bonded or Pandora! It's Shadows and Light, my take on the vampire mythos, and it's going to Totally Bound's new Pride imprint. It should be out in March of next year.

Luke Evans as Rafael, because omg why not? WHY NOT!?
So, yeah! Two novels next year, I'm so thrilled. Plus I've got Where There's Fire coming out next month, and In Memoriam, and Camellia 2 is out on Wednesday. Lots of stuff.
Also, tomorrow is my birthday, so look for something special as your serial update ;)
